PA Humanities Discovery Project to Debut at National Humanities Conference and Cultural Dynamics: Co-creating a Vision for Philadelphia

Following a successful preview at the Mid-Atlantic Association for Museums’ annual conference, the PA Humanities Discovery Project will make its debut at the National Humanities Conference on November 15 with the presentation Rediscovering the Humanities: A Journey Through Our Lived Experiences. PA Humanities Executive Director Laurie Zierer will present alongside Drexel University researchers Julie Goodman and Andrew Zitcer. This annual conference brings together representatives from colleges, universities, state humanities councils, cultural institutions, and other community-based organizations to explore strategies for deepening public engagement with the humanities.

The following week, on November 19, Executive Director Laurie Zierer will present The State of Philadelphia’s Cultural Community with Patricia Wilson Aden, President and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, at Cultural Dynamics: Co-creating a Vision for Philadelphia. This groundbreaking event features Dr. MarĂa Rosario Jackson, Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, and will bring together civic leaders, artists, and community members to explore strategies for integrating arts and culture into transformative civic decision-making. The public is invited to join via livestream for this important conversation.
